Maintaining a healthy weight

Our daily routine is a juggling act of everything that we prioritise. Allocating time for work, family, friends, sleep, eating and hopefully recreational activity.

Life is very busy although we all get the same amount of time each day, the key to creating healthy habits is to manage your time to our advantage and ensure we don’t drop the ball with what we choose to juggle. Being that we are products of what we practice, the key is to practice what we want. Being that we are creatures of habit and it only takes 3 weeks to create a habit, it’s time to direct your focus to what you want in regards to your health.

Maintaining a healthy weight is a common goal for most people although the process of acquiring it is subject to much confusion and deception. It’s important to stay informed, consistently acquiring knowledge to enable better choices, all we can do is to do our best based on what we know.

80% of the effort to make any changes to your body shape goals is a by-product of what we eat, we are what we eat literally, if you don’t provide the body with the building blocks for rejuvenation for our bodily cells then it’s no surprise that disease or dysfunction becomes more prevalent.

20% of the effort is being active. Think about it, we eat multiple times a day, whereby we have multiple choices a day to make in regards to eating the right foods. When it comes to being active, we too have multiple opportunities per day to be active and some of us have active jobs, although this still might not be enough to achieve the goals we have. This is where exercise is a necessity in our lives.
